This week we worked on creating a powerpoint based on the results of our student needs assessment. The powerpoint was completeed and we decided that we need to figure out a way to teach our students some basic computer skills. We have about 30 iep students on our team and they seem to have the most trouble remember how to save their work, these poor students have typed their mythology report three and four times. Our hope for next year is that we will have a mobile lab and beable to teach these skills right in our classrooms.

Another thing we found out is that our students don't use the resources made available to them. So we are going to attach some assignments to our website so students can be held more accountable to retrieving the information.

Finally, we need to find ways to get our students to interact with our smartboard. Our Smartboards are basically a really cool overhead, either we're presenting or the students are presenting, not so much interacting with it.

This weeks readings continued to explore differentiation, project based learning, and cooperative learning. Due to this class I just finished a really cool 21st century mythology unit. The kids worked in cooperative groups to read the myths, different groups of kids used different text, they wrote a report, took a test, and created a project. Check out some of the projects on xtranormal I have attached. I think they will really remember the information they learned about mythology.

Hopefully as we are trained in podcast, and other 21st century technology our classrooms will become more interactive.

Oh yeah, I posted my original video to my home page of my wiki, because I really like it. It has a song on that is probably more than 10%, but this is a private page so I posted it anyways.
